As a design/assist contractor, ESI uses advanced technology and a collaborative approach to exceed our customers’ expectations. We value open communication and collaboration between all team members, allowing project challenges to be quickly addressed.
ESI’s design/assist team combines practical experience with formal training to achieve effective constructability reviews. By involving us in the beginning stages of a project, we can help identify and resolve potential coordination problems, allowing our clients to find the best solutions and avoid unnecessary field labor and rework costs. Our project managers and field supervisors are involved in every phase of a project, ensuring a smooth transition from design through construction.
Design/assist services include:
- Reviewing proposed systems designs and impacts to costs, schedule and constructability.
- Providing input to determine front-end specifications, including measures for temporary facilities and 3D coordination.
- Field investigation support for coordinating design, verifying routing of systems, materials and construction methods.
- Identifying ways to simplify installation methods without reducing quality and saving labor and project costs.
By prefabricating everything from switch plates to entire electrical rooms away from the job site, we’re able to work more efficiently and meet more aggressive deadlines. Savings realized through reduced labor costs and shortened project timelines are passed on to our customers.
With dedicated prefab spaces in our warehouses, we continually look for opportunities to measure, cut, fit and bend materials for every project from planning stages to field execution. Prefabrication is a safer way to work, limiting exposure to hazardous activities on the job site, such as the number of times an employee goes up and down in a lift to fit a part.
